Letter from the Editor

Rubén David Bonilla Ramos|Editor-in-Chief

It's finally here! The Baptist Peacemaker editorial team is pleased to introduce the new format and website of the Baptist Peacemaker, the magazine of BPFNA~Bautistas por la Paz.

Over the past year, you have heard and read a lot about the relaunch of our beloved Baptist Peacemaker. This is a project that was born in the hearts of the editorial team, supported by the rich and long history of all those who came before us, shaping, valuing, and giving meaning to this wonderful publication. As an editorial team, we began brainstorming ideas and holding meetings on how we could turn the Baptist Peacemaker into a more dynamic experience for our readers. For years, a multitude of people have worked to develop the Baptist Peacemaker as a magazine that tells the stories of individuals engaging with peace from various spaces around the world. We, as the editorial team, noticed how these stories enriched the lives of our readers and decided to develop a strategic plan to make them more accessible and adapted to our times.

Supported by the foundation laid by stories and people who came before us, we chose to redesign the Baptist Peacemaker model by creating this new website, which provides access to our past and future articles. Simultaneously, it gives us the opportunity to continuously feature new and refreshing content on our website. This means that Baptist Peacemaker is transitioning from a quarterly publication to a constantly updated one with new stories being added periodically. In other words, we will no longer have to wait for months for new stories!

Our new webpage provides different ways to access our stories. In the Recent Articles section you will find the most recent articles submitted by our readers and contributors. You will have the opportunity to have them at your fingertips and read them each day. Please subscribe to our website below so you can always be notified when new content is added. However, if you wish to re-visit some of our old content, you can navigate to the Archive section where you will find past content from previous editions of the Baptist Peacemaker. This section is currently available, yet it is being constantly updated, so that most of our content can be accessed in this section.

The About section features a brief description of our magazine with links to some of our rich and diverse history. In the Team section you will be able to see and read about our editorial team. Be sure to drop by and read about our rich history and get to know the people that are making this possible.

Our new website also features a Call for Papers section, where you will find details on how to submit articles and stories to our magazine. This section is divided into four categories, so feel free to explore each one carefully before sending your submission. Each of these sections makes the Baptist Peacemaker more accessible to the public, inviting anyone who reads us to submit their articles, stories, or art for possible publication.

As a team, we have addressed some needs we found essential while expanding the focus of stories in our magazine. We are currently developing an Art and a Children’s section, seeking new ways to share peace stories with more diverse communities and in different ways. We have also started to design an Academic Articles section to expand our reach. With this section we hope to provide a space for individuals in the fields of theology, church, religion, and other disciplines to share short academic articles and presentations. All these sections will be available soon. Finally, we are already conducting meetings to develop our podcast. Soon you will hear more about this magnificent project!

We are very proud of the work that has been done, work that continues to be carried out and expanded daily. We hope that this new format allows you to enjoy our magazine while keeping our membership and readers connected to the peace stories we encounter every day. Thank you for your support, your patience, and for reading us.

Ebenezer: thus far the Lord has helped us.
